Making Sense of it all: Sensory Changes in Dementia

Presenters: National Council of Dementia Minds

Dementia significantly impacts a person’s senses.  It changes how people interpret what they see, hear, taste, feel, and smell. The extent of these changes is highly individual and in constant flux.  In this session, you will learn first-hand from a panel of persons living with dementia from National Council of Dementia Minds about sensory changes.  In addition, the panelists will share compensatory strategies they employ as well as accommodations others can make that support their well-being.
